- Begin your Pre-placement Study
- Submit your
Homestudy paperwork (packet two)
- Schedule your interviews and
home visits
- If you have a
homestudy, submit it with your application
- There is a fee to
transfer or update a current or previous homestudy

- Decide on the adoption program that is
right for you.
- You may know the program you want, or the homestudy may
help you decide.

To finalize an adoption
in New Mexico you will have a postplacement period. Most adoptions
require some type of post-placement.
