Agency Placement -
Other than our Domestic Program
Adoptions Plus can
provide an agency placement for you if arrangements have been made
by someone other than us to place a baby or child with you. For
instance, you are out of state and the birthmother and child is in
NM and arrangements have already been made with another agency or
attorney for the child to be placed with you, Adoptions Plus can
provide you with services. OR You have an Identified Adoption where
you and the birthparents have identified each other and want to go
forward with an adoption. For a detailed list of common situations
and fees, please see our fee agreement.
Birthparent
Relinquishment Counseling, Adoptee & Stepparent Counseling
Adoption Counseling
and a court report is required by New Mexico law for anyone wanting
to relinquish their parental rights and for anyone ten years of age
or older who is being adopted. It is also required for most
step-parent adoptions.
Adoptive Parent Education
Adoptions Plus
provides adoptive parent training for both domestic and
international adoptions. Adoptive parent training is required for
most adoptions. Some of the topics we cover are: adoption paperwork
and process, interaction with birthparents, medical and
developmental issues, attachment and bonding in adoption, raising
the post institutionalized child, multicultural issues, talking to
your child about adoption and legal issues. We also provide an
ongoing educational and support group for families adopting from
China. Fees vary based on length of training and supplies needed.
Post-placement Services
Post-placement is
required after many different types of adoptive placement. We can
provide your in-state post-placement, even if we did not do your
placement. If you have adopted in the United States post-placement
is required to finalize your adoption. Most international adoptions
require it, even if you finalize the adoption in the other country.
In addition to meeting agency, state and international requirements,
post-placement services include support and referral services for
your child and family.
Administrative Services and General Counseling

adoption services, not mentioned above. We can help. Please inquiry
about your specific situation.
